WHY BUILD A BRAND NEW White BARN?

Funny story, actually.

My husband Marshall and I (Angela but you can call me Angie or Ang) never planned on having a barn on our Emmett valley acreage, let alone a wedding venue. We settled down in 2003 to raise our family away from the bustle of Boise. The end result of raising kids is that those kids get married.

After 20 years of growing two boys and two girls on our own little farmstead of chickens and pups, it was time for a little more space - just a plain ol' barn to store what we accumulated over the years.

Then my eldest daughter, Kennedy, came home engaged. We were ecstatic! Of course, growing up in a beautiful orchard valley, she wanted to get married in a barn, surrounded by home. She loved the idea of a simple building that represented so much of what growing up in Emmett meant to her. And here we were...building a barn.

That barn got a fresh coat of paint and a completely redesigned interior - something beautiful and flowing and fit for a dignified wedding ceremony - something like what I remembered hearing Kennedy dream about getting married in one day.

We thought we needed another Building to hold more things.

We learned we needed a place to gather with people.

The day was unforgettable, the memories precious.

Yours

The doors were left closed for two years.

Despite many requests to rent it out, we didn’t know if that’s something we wanted to risk.

SO THERE IT SAT. PRISTINE, FURNISHED, AND OH SO EMPTY. EMPTY OF LAUGHTER, TEARS, MEMORIES AND FAMILY.

BUT THEN,

Let's Talk about having your special day here

We had started a barn to store

We had ended up building a place to create

Memories

It was more than a barn, now, though. It was a center for people to unite and celebrate. To laugh and cry with the turning pages of life.

Why leave it there, a bittersweet memory to fade away?

So we talked it over. Again and again. We kept coming back to what that White Barn meant to us. We knew it could mean a lot to other people, too. Genuinely, after a lot of nail biting, we felt moved, regardless of the risk, to make our picturesque White Barn a spot for others to make unforgettable memories just like ours.

Fall of 2022, White Barn Weddings and Events opened, ready to be home for many more dinners, dances and “I Do”’s.

What was going to be a barn for a few extra things we couldn't let go of has become an open door for new friends and so many priceless moments. So here's to the people who come into our lives and the unexpected outcomes that happen!

It's so much more than a

REALLY, IT’S ABOUT THE PEOPLE AND THE MEMORIES WE MAKE, NOT THE BUILDINGS OR THE STUFF IN THEM.
WE HOPE YOU can make more memories where we made ours.
